• To introduce and commercialize fine-chemicals extracted from oil palm by-products and oil palm biomass (bio-chemicals)

• To commercialize the phytonutrients derived from the refinery by-product (palm fatty acid distillate, PFAD)

 

Scope Of Research

1. Fine-chemicals from oil palm biomass such as cellulose, hemicellulose and lignin and the derivatives from each of the chemicals

2. Pilot plant study on extraction of phyto-sterols from PFAD
