National Biogas Implementation
Introduction:
Building biogas facilities at palm oil mills across the country has been identified as one of the key Entry Point Projects (EPP) under National Key Economic Areas (NKEA) in 2010 i.e. EPP 5. To facilitate biogas implementation, the MPOB NKEA Working Group (WG) on Biogas led by Director-General of MPOB (Datuk Dr. Choo Yuen May) was established on 12th August 2010 as follows:

Terms of Reference :

To plan, implement, monitor and review the programme on biogas implementation in palm oil mills.

To identify the issues and challenges and to formulate and propose action plans for implementation of the project

To promote the utilization of biogas for renewable energy (RE)(link to EPP 5 brochure)

To coordinate and facilitate the procedure and application of RE developers for biogas implementation.

Other matters that may be required by the NKEA Steering Committee from time to time
