MPOB Palm Biodiesel and Phytonutrients

  • Preserves heat sensitive phytonutrients; using mild reaction conditions enable phytonutrients recovery

  • Using high precision / non-destructive technologies such as short path distillation and supercritical CO2 chromatography

  • Overcoming solidification problem for palm biodiesel by producing winter grade palm biodiesel using fractional distillation and crystallisation technologies

  • Multi-feedstock design e.g. crude palm oil, refined palm oil, palm fatty acid distillate to ensure system flexibility

  • Produces high value phytonutrient concentrates such as vitamin E 50% and carotenes 30%, individual phytonutrient such as a-tocopherol, a-, g-, d-tocotrienols at >95% purity, and solid methyl ester (C16/C18 mixed) as superior feedstock for biodegradable surfactant e.g. a-sulphonated methyl ester
